The Ice Festival on Khuvsgul Lake (often referred to as the “Blue Pearl” Ice Festival) is an annual celebration held in the Khuvsgul Province of Mongolia, specifically on Lake Khuvsgul, during the winter season. Lake Khuvsgul is one of the world’s largest and deepest freshwater lakes, often praised as the "Blue Pearl" within the nomads due to its clear, pristine waters. The Ice Festival was first held in 2000 as part of efforts to raise awareness on environmental protection of Lake Khuvsgul and to promote winter tourism in the region. This initiative was led by a Khuvsgul native who was working as a ranger at the National Park then.
