Day 1
Upon arrival at Chinggis Khan International Airport, you will be met by your local guide. Depending on your international flight arrival time, enjoy a short orientation tour of central Ulaanbaatar, beginning your journey through history with a visit to the Chinggis Khan Museum. In the evening, gather for a traditional Mongolian welcome dinner, marking the official start of your adventure. Spend your first night relaxing and recovering from travel at a comfortable hotel, preparing for the journey ahead.
Day 2
Today, we travel approximately 55 km from the city center to visit the world’s tallest equestrian statue — a 40-meter-tall stainless steel monument of Genghis Khan on horseback, located at Tsonjin Boldog. According to legend, this is the very place where Genghis Khan discovered his golden whip, marking a symbolic beginning of his rise to greatness. Visitors can ascend through the chest and neck of the horse statue to reach the viewing platform, where a sweeping panoramic view of the surrounding steppe unfolds in every direction. After the visit, we begin our cycling journey, setting out with a sense of pride and purpose. In the evening, we arrive at the “13th Century” themed camp for overnight accommodation.
Day 3
Today’s ride combines paved and off-road terrain. After breakfast, we transfer by vehicle for approximately 18 km to the starting point, where your bikes will be ready and waiting. From here, we cycle through a constantly changing landscape of forests, open steppe, and rolling mountain terrain, passing along the shores of two small lakes before arriving at our riverside camp on the banks of the Kherlen River — a river closely associated with the early life of Genghis Khan, who is said to have lived and watered his horses along its banks. We conclude the day by settling into camp beside the river, surrounded by the timeless rhythms of the Mongolian landscape.
Day 4
In the morning, we depart camp by vehicle and travel to Baganuur, a remote district of Ulaanbaatar. From here, we begin today’s ride, cycling entirely on paved mountain roads, climbing and descending scenic passes as we make our way approximately 40 km to Tsenkhermandal soum in Khentii Province. The route offers expansive views of open countryside and rolling hills, marking a transition deeper into the historic heartland of eastern Mongolia.
Day 5
Today, we arrive at our long-awaited destination: Khar zurkh Blue Lake, a place of profound historical significance. It was here, 837 years ago, that Temujin was proclaimed “Chinggis Khan” and enthroned as the Great Khan of all Mongols, marking the birth of the Mongol Empire. This sacred and deeply revered place — one of Mongolia’s most treasured landscapes — invites us to slow down and witness the sunset over the lake that once stood as a silent witness to great history. As the sky turns gold, we share the stillness of the moment with waterbirds gliding across the surface, embracing a rare sense of peace in a land cherished and protected by generations.
Day 6
Today is a day to slow down and reconnect — to rest along the shores of the lake, immerse yourself in the layers of history, take a mindful walk into the surrounding hills, and allow space for quiet reflection. It is a moment to pause, breathe deeply, and take pride in how far your journey has carried you. On the shores of the lake stands a memorial complex erected to commemorate the 840th anniversary of the birth of Chinggis Khaan. Surrounding the monument is a semi-circular plaza measuring 108 meters in diameter, featuring wooden carvings of 36 khans of the Golden Lineage who ruled Mongolia. At the heart of the complex stand the central figures: Chinggis Khan himself, his father Yesukhei, his mother Oelun, and his principal queen Borte-Ujin. In total, the site features 50 intricately carved wooden statues, forming a powerful tribute to Mongolia’s imperial lineage and heritage.
Day 7
Today marks the final day of our cycling journey. Well-rested and energized, we set out for a 30 km off-road ride, bringing our cycling adventure to a satisfying close. Taking a new route rather than retracing our path, today’s ride offers fresh landscapes and a final taste of adventure, echoing the spirit of the days before. At the end of the off-road section, we load our bikes and transfer by vehicle directly back to Ulaanbaatar, where we arrive at our hotel to relax and unwind after the journey. In the evening, we gather for a celebratory farewell dinner, marking the successful completion of our expedition.
Day 8
Free afternoon for shopping or optional city sightseeing (Ex: National historical museum, monastery). Depending on your international flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport after lunch or dinner for your return flight home.
