Day 1
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Our professional team will meet and greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, visit the Bogd Khan Winter Palace Museum, the residence of Mongolia’s last king and religious leader, Bogd Jebtsundamba Khutuktu. Continue to Zaisan Memorial, a Soviet-era monument located on a hilltop with panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar city. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and prepare for your Mongolian winter adventure.
Day 2
After breakfast, begin a full-day city sightseeing tour. Visit Sukhbaatar Square, the central square of Mongolia surrounded by important government and cultural buildings. The square features the statue of national hero Damdin Sukhbaatar and is the heart of major national celebrations.Continue to the National Museum of Mongolia, showcasing Mongolia’s history from prehistoric times through the Mongol Empire and modern Mongolia. The museum includes traditional costumes, artifacts, and ethnographic collections. After lunch, visit Gandan Monastery, the center of Mongolian Buddhism. Founded in 1809, the monastery houses over 100 monks and features a magnificent 26-meter gilded statue of Avalokitesvara.
Day 3
After breakfast, drive to Khustai National Park, located approximately 100 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar. The park is internationally famous for successfully reintroducing the endangered Przewalski’s wild horse, known locally as Takhi. Explore the vast grasslands and forests while observing wildlife including deer, marmots, foxes, and numerous bird species. Guests may enjoy optional horseback riding and visit the information center to learn about the conservation project. Continue driving toward Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire.
Day 4
After breakfast, visit the Karakorum Museum to discover the glorious history of the Mongol Empire and archaeological findings from the ancient capital founded by Chinggis Khan. Then explore Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia’s oldest Buddhist monastery, surrounded by 108 white stupas. The monastery contains valuable religious artworks and artifacts dating from the 15th–17th centuries. After the tour, drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Dinner will be served upon arrival.
Day 5
After breakfast, travel to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, one of Mongolia’s most scenic destinations located about 60 km from Ulaanbaatar. Visit the famous Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue Complex, the world’s tallest equestrian statue standing 40 meters high, symbolizing the pride and strength of the Mongol Empire. After lunch, continue to Terelj National Park, known for its dramatic rock formations, snowy valleys, forests, and open grasslands. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Mongolian stone-roasted mutton dinner, once prepared for Mongolian khans and nobles. Overnight in a traditional Mongolian yurt with private bathroom facilities.
Day 6
After having breakfast; we drive to Kharkhorin, the ancient Capital of Great Mongolian Empire, and to Erdenezuu Monastery, a treasure of Mongolian Buddhism. Erdenezuu Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, was founded on the ruins of Kharkhorin in 1586 by Avtai Sain Khaan, a descendant of Chinggis Khaan. There is an extraordinary collection of Buddhist paintings, priceless religious objects, special costumes for Tsama religious dances, and superb Buddhist iconography in true Mongolian and Tibetan style. Overnight in Anja ger camp.
Day 7
After breakfast, return to Ulaanbaatar. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Mongolian cultural performance featuring folk music, throat singing, horsehead fiddle (Morin Khuur), traditional dance, and acrobatics. After dinner, transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8
After breakfast, visit the Chinggis Khan Museum, Mongolia’s largest archaeological and historical museum. Explore exhibitions covering ancient nomadic civilizations including the Xiongnu, Turkic empires, and the Mongol Empire. After lunch, enjoy free time for shopping and exploring Ulaanbaatar city. Purchase souvenirs and experience local culture before transfer to the airport for departure.
