Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Ulaanbaatar International Airport, you will be warmly met and greeted by our team before transferring to your hotel for check-in and some time to refresh. We then begin our city tour with a visit to Sukhbaatar Square, the vibrant heart of the capital, surrounded by key government buildings and cultural landmarks. From here, we continue on foot to the nearby Chinggis Khan National Museum, where the highlight is the impressive pure golden statue of the Great Khan, inaugurated in March 2025, offering deep insight into Mongolia’s rich imperial history. After lunch, we proceed to Gandan Monastery, the country’s most important active Buddhist center, home to the towering Migjid Janraisig statue and a peaceful complex where monks continue their daily prayers, providing a glimpse into Mongolia’s spiritual life. In the evening, we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel for overnight.

Kharkhorin, the ancient capital

Day 2

After breakfast, we drive to Kharkhorin, once the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, arriving around lunchtime to enjoy a relaxed meal in the historic town. In the afternoon, we visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia’s oldest Buddhist monastery, originally built in the 16th century with stones from the ruins of Karakorum and enclosed by 108 white stupas, offering a fascinating blend of Buddhist, shamanistic, and imperial Mongol heritage. We then continue to Kharkhorin Museum, where well-curated exhibits and archaeological finds vividly illustrate the rise of the Mongol Empire, the life of ancient Karakorum, and the cultural legacy of Chinggis Khan’s era. In the evening, we return to the ger camp for dinner and a peaceful overnight surrounded by the vast steppe landscape.

Orkhon Waterfall

Day 3

In the morning, we head to Orkhon Waterfall, one of Mongolia’s most spectacular natural sights, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions and plunging dramatically into a basalt canyon, especially impressive during summer when the water flow is at its peak. After enjoying the scenery and short walks around the falls, we continue to the ger camp to check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, we explore the surrounding countryside on foot and visit a local nomad family, yak breeders, to learn about their traditional lifestyle, herding practices, and daily life in the high steppe. Later, we enjoy horse riding through the iconic Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its vast grasslands and deep historical significance as the cradle of nomadic civilizations. In the evening, we return to the ger camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight in the heart of nature.

Bayangobi , the mini sand dunes

Day 4

After breakfast, we head to Bayangobi, often called the “mini Gobi,” where golden sand dunes stretch unexpectedly across the green steppe, backed by distant mountains and grazing livestock. After lunch, we explore the area by hiking through the soft dunes, enjoying panoramic views and the striking contrast between desert and grassland. Later, we experience traditional camel riding, a classic way to discover the landscape and learn about camel herding in this region. In the evening, we enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the ger camp, surrounded by the peaceful silence of the Mongolian countryside.

Hustai National Park

Day 5

In the morning, we head to Hustai National Park, a protected area renowned for the successful reintroduction of the world’s last truly wild horse, the Przewalski’s horse, once extinct in the wild and returned to its natural steppe habitat through international conservation efforts. After lunch, we set out on a safari drive across the rolling grasslands to spot these magnificent horses roaming freely, while also keeping an eye out for other wildlife such as red deer, marmots, foxes, and a variety of steppe birds. As the day winds down, we return to the ger camp for dinner and an overnight stay, enjoying the tranquility of Mongolia’s vast natural landscape.

Terelj National Park

Day 6

Today we head to Terelj National Park, a scenic destination known for its dramatic granite rock formations, alpine meadows, pine forests, and crystal-clear rivers, offering a refreshing contrast to the open steppe. We arrive at the ger camp by lunchtime and enjoy a relaxing meal surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, we explore the area by visiting the iconic Turtle Rock, the symbol of the park shaped naturally like a giant turtle, and continue to Aryapala Meditation Temple, peacefully nestled on a mountainside and offering panoramic views of the valley below. In the evening, we return to the ger camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the tranquil natural surroundings.

Return to Ulaanbaatar

Day 7

In the morning, we drive to the Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue Complex, home to the world’s largest equestrian statue, standing an impressive 40 meters high and officially recognized by Guinness World Records. The stainless-steel monument symbolizes the moment Chinggis Khan discovered a golden whip and offers panoramic views of the surrounding steppe from its observation deck. After the visit, we return to Ulaanbaatar and enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the city centre. In the afternoon, we have free time for shopping, ideal for souvenirs, cashmere products, and local crafts. Later, we enjoy a Mongolian traditional folklore performance featuring throat singing, long-song vocals, contortion, and traditional dance. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
