Day 1
We begin our journey south from Ulaanbaatar. As we leave the city behind, the landscape opens into the vast, snow-dusted Mongolian steppe. The drive is a meditation on distance and light, with a stop for a warm local lunch in Mandalgobi. By evening, we reach Dalanzadgad, the gateway to the South Gobi, where the cold air is matched only by the warm welcome of the local town.
Day 2
Today, the festival begins! We drive to the festival site to witness the grand opening. The highlights of the day are a feast for the eyes: the "Camel Parade," where hundreds of herders ride in formation, and the competition for the "Most Beautiful Couple," showcasing the finest traditional silk costumes and camel tack. In the afternoon, watch the high-energy "Camel Polo" tournament—a surprising display of the animals' intelligence and speed.
Day 3
The energy reaches a fever pitch today with the famous Camel Races. Witness the raw power of the Bactrian camels as they thunder across the desert floor. You will also see the "Camel Relay" and "Camel Loading" competitions, where herders demonstrate the ancient skills of catching, taming, and loading camels—vital techniques for survival in the desert. We conclude the day with a heartfelt closing ceremony before a final dinner in the Gobi.
Day 4
After an early breakfast, we bid farewell to the Gobi and begin our drive back to Ulaanbaatar. We’ll stop again in Mandalgobi for lunch, reflecting on the memories of the past three days. We arrive in Ulaanbaatar in the late afternoon/evening and transfer you to your hotel for a warm rest.
